Reverend David joins parish
ST Christopher’s Pott Shrigley has welcomed a new Priest in Charge, the Reverend David Swales.
Revd David was introduced at a special licensing service at the village church.
Family and friends of Revd Swales joined parishioners in a packed church to take part in the service which saw Revd Swales licensed by Bishop Peter the Bishop of Chester.
The service was led by the Vicar of Bollington, Revd Canon Veronica Hydon, and the Archdeacon of Macclesfield the Venerable Ian Bishop who delivered the sermon.
Revd Swales said: “I’m looking forward to being part of community life, to be involved with the people, and taking services. It’s still early days but I want to work with people here and find the best ways of serving our community.”
Pott Shrigley’s new Priest in Charge, Revd David Swales, has moved to St Christopher’s from his previous post in Suffolk. He is originally from Lancashire and he trained at St Johns College, University of Durham.
