Pink is colour for netball fundraiser

Macclesfield Express - - CHARITY ROUND-UP -

A FUN netball tournament has been organised in aid of a breast cancer charity.

The event – open to men and women – will see teams dressed in pink battle it out on the netball courts at the Fallibroome Academy on Sunday (July 9).

Teams will be asked to pledge £50 to take part, which will go towards Prevent Breast Cancer, the only breast cancer charity in the UK that focuses on prevention rather than cure.

Becci Griffies, organiser, said: “Cancer has unfortunately played a big role in my life so far, and I want to protect not only the future generations of my family, but those of every family out there. I can see a future without cancer.”

The money raised will help fund research promoting early diagnosis, screening and lifestyle changes, aiming to stop breast cancer for future generations.

The contest will culminate with a celebratory pink tea party afterwards, with lots of super prizes in the raffle.

To enter a team with a maximum of 10 players email beccigriff@hotmail. co.uk, or go along to cheer on the teams and enjoy the afternoon tea.
