Date set for Haigh’s step up to six rounds
MACCLESFIELD boxer Jake Haigh will return to the ring later this month when he steps up for his first sixround bout.
The 22-year-old will be competing on a bill taking place at Oldham Leisure Centre on July 29. Haigh is trained by boxing legend Ricky Hatton and has made a perfect start to his professional career, putting together a record of 4-0, with two of those wins coming by stoppage.
His last win came in May when he defeated Mitch Mitchell 40-35 on points after four rounds of their bout at Middleton Arena.
Haigh’s stablemate Mark Heffron will also be on the bill on July 29, with the likes of Liam Taylor, Danny Wright and Jack Flatley in action too.
