Market is pulling in visitors from afar
HUNDREDS of people turned out for the latest Treacle Market.
Organisers said visitors travelled from as far afield as North Wales, Leicester and Sheffield.
Planners are now looking to the next market on Sunday, July 30, when there will be a live performance from a samba band and 160 stalls.
Plans for the August event include a ‘beach’ theme with donkey rides.
Jane Munro, from the Treacle Market, said people travel from miles around to attend the market, which continues to be well attended each month.
She said: “We enjoyed a really lovely day at Treacle last month with visitors even travelling from North Wales on a coach, Leicester, Liverpool and Sheffield to wander round the market.
“The churchyard was full of fascinating stalls about social action initiatives called ‘What’s Going On,’ organised by HOPE in NE Cheshire.
“We loved the Pop Up Bar from local bar MASH GURU selling wonderful Breton crepes and live music from Annie’s Saints and Sinners, AZ Aloud, Megan Glover and Alexis Maclean.”
