Police discover ‘professional operation’ after raid at flats
THREE men have been convicted after a huge cannabis farm was found above a former Indian restaurant in the town centre.
The ‘professional operation’ – which had a potential street value of £280,000 – was discovered by a locksmith who had been sent by the landlord when the tenant stopped paying rent.
Police raided two flats where they uncovered almost 300 plants with ‘space for up to 100 more’ and evidence of harvest and growing equipment.
Dean Gareth Peppard, 35, Peter Swain, 39, and Gary Southgate, 39, were linked to the crime scene through DNA and fingerprints.
Peppard and Swain admitted producing cannabis at Chester Crown Court, and Gary Southgate was found guilty of producing cannabis
