also (off a no-ball), but after these momentary slip-ups, they both put on a batting exhibition, removing any doubt of not reaching this slender target

Birchall began to motor with a couple of maximums along the way, and Porter wasn’t far behind as he cleared the boundary a couple of times himself. Both batsmen honed in on their 50s as Macc’s victory was now a matter of time. Birchall was caught behind off the spin of Grindley for 50, Tudor came and went off the same bowler for 2 and then Porter was caught for 51, also off the slow leftarmer. Macc did then eventually.cross the line, for the loss of 3 wickets inside 18 overs, winning by 7 wickets, and taking an important 25 points.

Next week Macc are back in action at home to Upton in a 1pm start at Victoria Road.
