PLAN for hundreds of homes on Macclesfield green belt adopted by council. Cheshire East has voted to adopt its Local Plan which includes 100 hectares of green belt. (Express, August 2) Danny Hibell: What does air quality have to do with homes? It’s Cheshire, lots of open space. Thank god, at last, the council are using Green Belt, I hope they decide to use more of it. Macclesfield has lots of it. Andy Flack: Get them built, this disingenuous argument about green/ brown belt is nonsense, only six per cent of England’s mass is urban. Mark Eeles: Great, Cheshire East can sign off housing developments on green sites but when it comes to the town and the Barrack Hill development which is a Grey Site they are totally useless! Sharon Pollard: Another classic, traffic jams, no shops, full schools, more overpriced housing, super! Steven Mayer: And where’s the infrastructure to support all these new houses, let alone jobs? Lesley Johnson: Let’s hope they are two or three bed affordable homes for locals. Rachel Clare: And all the people will have a ghost town to walk around. No shops - no entertainment - high parking charges - just nothing. Jamie Liebreck: This is awful news. James Thomas: There’s three new sites near Congleton, be more chaos on the roads there. Jerry May: It was bad decision for Macc
