Name: Stewart Vann. Which organisation are you involved with?: SUSO (Speaking Up Speaking Out). What do you do there?: General volunteering, helping and interacting with the ‘dropper inners’ in various activities. How did you become a volunteer?: I wanted to do volunteer work on my retirement. My daughter-in-law told me volunteers were needed at SUSO – I applied and was accepted. What is your favourite place in Macclesfield?: Waterstones. Ideally how would you spend every day?: As productively and pleasurably as possible. What was the best holiday you have been on?: I have enjoyed many holidays, I could not name a favourite. What one piece of advice would you give?: Use your two ears, more than your one mouth. What was your first job?: For a very short time an apprentice printer, but my main occupation was in the fire service where I had a long, satisfying and reasonably successful career. What is on your MP3 player?: An eclectic mixture from Bach, to Billy Holiday to The Beatles. What is your favourite TV show?: Eggheads. What are you reading at the moment?: The Great Pursuit by Tom Sharpe. What is your biggest inspiration?: I cannot name one, there have been many in various scenarios.
