DISABLED ARE VICTIMISED
I THOUGHT I would write a letter and air my views on the rules of parking in the doctors’ surgery on Sunderland Street.
First of all, as far as I know, the car parks are run by ParkingEye. If you are disabled and on their register, you are allowed extra time.
Not so here, everybody is only allowed one hour to park from the time you enter the car park.
A lot of people have to use a wheelchair like my wife and it is very time consuming from the time you enter to the time you go out – and an hour is not very long.
So I think disabled people are being victimised. Name and address supplied
STAY GREEN A BIT LONGER?
ONCE again today I have been stuck in the Silk Road traffic jam.
The road is always very busy at the Byrons Lane lights and backs off on to the Silk Road towards the station lights.
A simple solution would be for the Byrons Lane lights to stay on green for 15 more seconds then this would help clear the road and cause little problems for the few cars waiting to come out. Name and address supplied Unfortunately as councils aren’t funded properly by central government they resort to quick wins like this.
PLANS to revamp Macclesfield A&E revealed. East Cheshire NHS Trust is spending £900k of government cash on expanding A&E to cope with demand: Ian Bradshaw: It’s not the government’s money, it’s tax-payer’s money. It’s our money. Laura Burgess: Fully agree, as a taxpayer I consider myself a shareholder. Mandy Reed: Absolutely The government doesn’t make money. The government takes money. Laura Burgess: I’ve always received an amazing service from Macclesfield A&E even with it stretched to breaking point. Imagine how fabulous the service would be with increased facilities – wow.
