‘Best ever’ GCSEs

STU­DENTS at Mac­cles­field Col­lege are cel­e­brat­ing af­ter re­ceiv­ing their GCSE re­sults.

The Col­lege has seen its best ever re­sults across all levels and many of the stu­dents will be con­tin­u­ing their stud­ies at a higher level in Septem­ber.

Laura Shack­ley, aged 30, achieved a grade 4 in her GCSE Maths and this will im­prove her ca­reer prospects with the as­pi­ra­tion of at­tend­ing Univer­sity to study nurs­ing.

Laura said: “Mac­cles­field Col­lege has been re­ally sup­port­ive.”

An­drea Mur­phy, Vice Prin­ci­pal for Cur­ricu­lum and Qual­ity at Mac­cles­field Col­lege, said: “We are re­ally proud of our stu­dents at Mac­cles­field Col­lege. This has been a bumper year in terms of re­sults and this gives our stu­dents a plat­form to move on to fan­tas­tic pro­gres­sion routes in­clud­ing pres­ti­gious univer­sity cour­ses and em­ploy­ment.

“Our pri­or­ity for next year is to use our well qual­i­fied staff to pre­pare our stu­dents for the changes in the GCSE grad­ing sys­tem and sup­port them whether they wish to go on to fur­ther ed­u­ca­tion, ap­pren­tice­ships or em­ploy­ment.”
