Amy nets call-up for England
ATEENAGER has been selected for England Netball squad.
Amy Carter, 18, will be part of the ‘futures’ squad which develops younger players for the full national team.
Amy, a former Fallibroome student, has spent the last year playing at U19 and U21 level for her country with tours to Jamaica, South Africa and New Zealand.
She is now hoping to break into the senior squad while studying medicine at the University of Manchester.
Hannah Moseley, her former PE teacher, said: “As a department we are extremely proud that we have had the opportunity to witness the growth of Amy as a netball player. It is a phenomenal achievement to be selected to represent the country. She has inspired many of the netball players here at Fallibroome and the staff and pupils wish her every success in the future.”
Amy, who plays centre, said: “It was hard studying for my A-levels exams and then going off to training. I had trips to South Africa and New Zealand during my revision, so it was pretty intense.
“But I am happy to be part of the squad and now hope to make it into the seniors.”
