NOM­I­NA­TIONS have been re­leased for the 2017 Com­mu­nity Ra­dio Awards.

All cur­rent Of­com li­censed com­mu­nity ra­dio sta­tions, of which there are nearly 300, are el­i­gi­ble to en­ter as many sub­mis­sions to the cat­e­gories as they wish and we are pleased to an­nounce that two peo­ple as­so­ci­ated with our com­mu­nity project have been short listed for awards.

Firstly Tr­ish Napier, who presents the Reg­gae Show ev­ery Thurs­day evening be­tween 8pm and 10pm and co-presents the Brunch Show ev­ery Wed­nes­day be­tween 11am and 1pm, has been short­listed for the Sage per­son of the year which recog­nises some­one who lives ‘ac­cord­ing to an ideal which tran­scends the ev­ery­day’.

The sec­ond nom­i­nee is Mark Black­man, who used to present our Break­fast and Driv­e­time shows.

Mark is now the af­ter­noon show pre­sen­ter on Wir­ral FM and has been short listed for the male pre­sen­ter of the year award.

More than 350 nom­i­na­tions from 70 com­mu­nity ra­dio sta­tions from ev­ery cor­ner of the UK have been whit­tled down to form the short­lists.

The win­ner’s names will be an­nounced at the Com­mu­nity Ra­dio awards cer­e­mony which is be­ing held in Bris­tol on Septem­ber 23, in the evening of the Com­mu­nity Me­dia Con­fer­ence.
