CANALSIDE 102.8 FM
NOMINATIONS have been released for the 2017 Community Radio Awards.
All current Ofcom licensed community radio stations, of which there are nearly 300, are eligible to enter as many submissions to the categories as they wish and we are pleased to announce that two people associated with our community project have been short listed for awards.
Firstly Trish Napier, who presents the Reggae Show every Thursday evening between 8pm and 10pm and co-presents the Brunch Show every Wednesday between 11am and 1pm, has been shortlisted for the Sage person of the year which recognises someone who lives ‘according to an ideal which transcends the everyday’.
The second nominee is Mark Blackman, who used to present our Breakfast and Drivetime shows.
Mark is now the afternoon show presenter on Wirral FM and has been short listed for the male presenter of the year award.
More than 350 nominations from 70 community radio stations from every corner of the UK have been whittled down to form the shortlists.
The winner’s names will be announced at the Community Radio awards ceremony which is being held in Bristol on September 23, in the evening of the Community Media Conference.
We wish Trish and Mark good luck with their nominations.
