Marsh mellow after sinking former club
MACCLESFIELD Town striker Tyrone Marsh admits it was a sweet feeling after scoring the winner against his former club in the 1-0 victory over Dover on Friday.
The Silkmen came out on top after Marsh got the only goal of the game, and he was delighted to be the difference.
“I think it went really well, that was against my former team too so it was nice to get a goal and win the game,” he told the club’s official website.
“It makes it much sweeter, that’s the first time I’ve played against them so it was nice to get a goal and to get the win. We haven’t lost at home yet so we are doing very well and it’s just nice to get a win, keep going and make this a fortress.
“I knew they were playing man for man everywhere on the pitch so I’ve tried to get away from my man and I know when Elliott gets it he is going to put a good ball in so I’ve made my run and then it’s zipped off the pitch and I’ve put my head on it.”
Marsh now hopes he can build on his goal against Dover and continue to find the back of the net throughout the rest of the campaign.
I’m looking to score a lot more goals this season,” he said.
“The more minutes we play, the team will start to gel and play better, and get to know each other more.”
