OUR nos­tal­gia col­umn brings you fas­ci­nat­ing pic­tures taken in Mac­cles­field in days gone by. IN this week’s col­umn, we are bring­ing you an­other se­lec­tion of old pho­to­graphs.

We have teamed up with Mac­cles­field Li­brary and Cheshire Archives and Lo­cal Stud­ies to share old pho­to­graphs from the archives and will be fea­tur­ing sev­eral dif­fer­ent im­ages each week.

Work­ing lives are cap­tured in this week’s se­ries of im­ages – from news­pa­pers be­ing de­liv­ered to a newsagents on Roe Street to mar­ket stalls out­side the town hall and weavers and sew­ers mak­ing their liv­ing cre­at­ing ties and shirts.
