Pictures of happiness

Macclesfield Express - - NOSTALGIA -

OUR nostalgia column brings you fascinating pictures taken in Macclesfield in days gone by. WE have teamed up with Macclesfield Library and Cheshire Archives and Local Studies to share old photographs from the archives and will be featuring several different images each week.

This week’s column features historic photos of Bollington, otherwise known as ‘Happy Valley’, mainly taken during the 1940s.

Explore old books, maps and newspapers at Macclesfield Library, Jordangate, SK10 1EE or visit archives.cheshire.gov. uk.

We would love to hear your memories relating to any of the pictures we share.

If you have additional information on the pictures featured today, please contact staff at the Cheshire Image Bank by visiting www. cheshireimagebank.org.uk and clicking on ‘Can you help?’
