Students shoot to victory on sports tour

TALENTED pupils have shone during a recent sports tour whitewashi­ng their opponents.

Children from Beech Hall School came out on top in three events during a tournament in the capital.

The annual event saw 16 pupils take part, and competed in a number of events against Riverston School.

The Macclesfie­ld school secured a grand slam of results, beating their opponent 8-1 in netball, a 5-0 in football and a nerve-racking 2-1 victory in volleyball.

As part of the event, pupils also took part in an Apprentice-style task, when seven mixed teams had to create a slogan and jingle.

The teams then to construct a piece of improvised drama.

James Allen, headteache­r of Beech Hall School, said: “The sports tour was a fantastic trip full of sport, respect and friendship. Thank you to Riverston School for hosting such a wonderful event and congratula­tions to all sportsmen and women for their winning victories.

“I am incredibly proud of how our pupils conducted themselves on this trip, they represente­d the school impeccably as always.”
