Rotary club’s £500 gift to hospice funds
THE Rotary Club of Macclesfield Castle has donated £500 to East Cheshire Hospice.
Money has come from fundraising events held by the club over the last year prior to the lockdown.
During the Covid crisis East Cheshire Hospice is one of many worthy causes that has seen donations dry up so Rotary members decided to step in.
Carley Macey, from the hospice, said: “We appreciate the support of our wonderful community now more than ever.
“Without these kind and generous donations, from people like the Rotary Club of
Macclesfield Castle, we wouldn’t be able to continue to provide our vital services to our local community.”
Chris Watson, incoming Rotary president, said: “We are delighted, thanks to the generosity of local people, to be able to give a donation of £500 to East Cheshire Hospice to support their wonderful work, especially in these challenging and difficult times. The care, comfort and compassionate support provided by the staff at the hospice for patients and their loved ones is outstanding and Rotary wishes to contribute in a small way.”
