Ederson fit for european bow

- By STUART BRENNAN

EDERSON is set to bounce back from his horror collision to make his Champions League debut for City against Feyenoord tomorrow.

The goalkeeper has suffered no adverse reactions to getting a boot in the face from Sadio Mane, a foul which saw the Liverool man get a straight red card on Saturday.

But after lying prone for eight minutes, receiving oxygen and then being stretchered off in a neck brace, fans and players alike feared he had sustained a serious injury. But after being checked for fractures at the sports medical institute adjacent to the City Football Aacademy, he was back in the dugout to see the end of the Blues’ 5-0 victory.

Pep Guardiola felt the first European game of the season, in Rotterdam tomorrow night, might be too soon. But Ederson has been back in training and is already pencilled in for a seat on the plane to Holland this afternoon.

Vincent Kompany is not expected to be on the plane, after missing the Liverpool game with a calf problem.

Guardiola said last week he felt Kompany may just miss the one game, but he is unlikely to risk his skipper after the Blues coped well without him.

Yaya Toure is expected to be in the travelling party despite being left out of the matchday squad on Saturday. Rumours that the midfielder was absent with a bad back proved unfounded, and he watched the game from the stand, with Ilkay Gundogan and Fabian Delph included instead.
