Antarctica memories...
MY sister and I clearly remember an exhibit, probably in the early 1960s, with Antarctic exploration pieces (tent, skis), which may have been the anniversary of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s trip. We both think it was at Kings Hall, Belle Vue.
I would like to find information or images of this.
I have tried extensive internet searches, also contacted a variety of historic societies and found no records.
This leads me to think it may have been as add-on to a different exhibition, or possibly at a library or museum.
It was in Manchester, and could have been no earlier than 1962.
Any help or information from readers would be very welcome to fill in a gap and happy memory.
