School to fine parents who are late for picking up kids...

Manchester Evening News - - LETTERS, COMMENTS AND EMAILS -

As a teacher, late parents are an annoyance – but can be very distressing for a young child. Perhaps regular offenders should be fined, but not genuine cases. Alex Newman

Some parents have to work, sometimes that means having to work later than normal as jobs aren’t as flexible as they used to be. Then there is traffic to consider at rush hour, which is far worse than it has ever been. Vicky Towers

As a parent at school meetings, teachers who run late at parent evenings is a hindrance, so do you suggest we get paid too? Sumeet Ricky Mandal

As a tutor myself I think that this is absurd! No decent parent would deliberately leave their child waiting. If there was any money going spare, it might be better spent in a sheltered area for them to safely wait. Portia Montgomery
