UNITED V EVERTON Saha wants more new faces at Reds
UNITED have scored 15 goals in their opening five matches and have secured four clean sheets, but ex-Reds striker Louis Saha still believes Jose Mourinho’s squad needs strengthening.
And despite that impressive start at the back and in attack, the Frenchman wants to see a new defender and forward added.
Saha believes the Reds should plunder Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund’s ranks at some stage.
“I would go for Raphael Varane (Real Madrid),” Saha said.
“Varane is a great defender and I think he would bring something special to the defence.
“And Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Dortmund), he’s very quick and he’s got the eye for the ball all the time. He’s really impressed me in the last few years. And he’s still a player you feel is still stepping up. He really wants to improve. I think he would be a good addition.”
Mourinho invested £150m in his squad this summer landing Romelu Lukaku from Everton, Nemanja Matic from Chelsea and Benfica’s Victor Lindelof.
The Reds were linked with both of Saha’s targets on his wish-list this summer.
Real’s French defender eventually elected to stay at the Bernabeu and despite plenty of interest in Aubameyang, he remained at Dortmund once the transfer window shut.
