High hopes for new restaurant

Manchester Evening News - - NEWS -

MANCHESTER’S highest restaurant will open soon in Spinningfields - and its name has been revealed.

20 Stories will be 100m up in the sky, complete with a rooftop restaurant and garden terrace at the very top of the new No. 1 Spinningfields office building.

Owners D&D are looking for a big name to lead the new venture - and has a record of bagging Michelin stars at some of its other brands, such as Launceston Place and Angler in London.

The 9,500 sq ft space will also boast a ‘substantial’ outdoor terrace with panoramic views over the city which developer Allied London is billing as ‘Manchester’s most glamorous operation yet.’

The restaurant is scheduled to open next February, according to the D&D website. They will also be joined on Spinningfields by The Ivy, which is planning to open a brasserie in the city next year.

Allied London is also progressing with plans for ‘new urban oasis’ The Field - which is under construction in the middle of Hardman Square.

At the heart of The Field is a four-storey, timber-framed building known as The Pavillion.
