White van man banned after 114mph police chase on M60
A WHITE van man has been banned from driving for six months after he led police on a 114mph chase along the M60.
Matthew White put other drivers ‘at risk’ when he rattled along the motorway at 40mph over the speed limit in a company van during the early morning chase.
Officers began following his van when they joined the motorway clockwise at junction 5 for Didsbury and noticed he was speeding.
Police dash-cam footage at 4am on March 31, shows the vehicle reaching speeds of more than 100mph. White left the motorway at junction 7 for Chester Road, before driving at 62mph in a bus lane, then stopping.
The 26-year-old, of Iron Street, Miles Platting, was found guilty of driving without due care at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on July 17. He was ordered to pay a £290 fine, victim surcharge of £30 and £85 in court costs.
He has also been disqualified from driving for six months.
