White van man banned after 114mph po­lice chase on M60

A WHITE van man has been banned from driv­ing for six months after he led po­lice on a 114mph chase along the M60.

Matthew White put other driv­ers ‘at risk’ when he rat­tled along the mo­tor­way at 40mph over the speed limit in a com­pany van dur­ing the early morn­ing chase.

Of­fi­cers be­gan fol­low­ing his van when they joined the mo­tor­way clock­wise at junc­tion 5 for Dids­bury and no­ticed he was speed­ing.

Po­lice dash-cam footage at 4am on March 31, shows the ve­hi­cle reach­ing speeds of more than 100mph. White left the mo­tor­way at junc­tion 7 for Ch­ester Road, be­fore driv­ing at 62mph in a bus lane, then stop­ping.

The 26-year-old, of Iron Street, Miles Plat­ting, was found guilty of driv­ing with­out due care at Manch­ester Mag­is­trates’ Court on July 17. He was or­dered to pay a £290 fine, vic­tim sur­charge of £30 and £85 in court costs.

He has also been dis­qual­i­fied from driv­ing for six months.
