SADDLEWORTH Pool and Leisure Centre in Uppermill reopened this week after a two-week closure for vital refurbishments.

The works were carried out as part of a £50,000 investment into the centre, which included essential updates to plant room equipment and poolside refurbishments.

Works were jointly funded by Oldham council and Oldham Community Leisure (OCL).

Glenn Tolan, head of facilities at OCL, said: “Our aim in closing Saddleworth for refurbishment was to ensure the pool is kept up to date with current standards and regulations.

“Although a large proportion of the work is not visible to customers, it will ensure a more consistent level of water quality and reduced programme disruption.”

During the works, the centre’s other facilities including the studio, gym, outdoor pitches, sauna, steamrooms and changing rooms were open as usual.
