New stage in over-60s’ life

-

PEOPLE aged over 60 will be able to enjoy drama classes free of charge.

The initiative, set up by Manchester’s Ageing Well, is available to anyone in Chorlton, Chorlton Park and Whalley Range.

The workshops are funded by Manchester council’s neighbourhood investment fund.

Led by qualified, professional theatre practitioners, the sessions are suitable for everyone, even those completely new to performing. Participants will learn acting techniques with a view to creating a community show.

Centenarian Mickie Mitchell, from Chorlton, is one of the first people to sign up to the course.

The ten week course begins on April 4 and will be held every Wednesday morning from 10am until June 6 at St Ninians Church, Egerton Road South, Chorlton.

It has been put together by CGN Coordinator Helen Hibberd MBE, advisor Bernard Leach and Chorlton-based actor and playwright Nakib Narat.

For further details contact Bernard on: 07960 888 879.
