POG EURO DOUBT FOR UNITED

- By SAMUEL LUCKHURST

PAUL Pogba trained for United yesterday morning but Jose Mourinho said he didn’t know whether he would be fit to face Sevilla tonight.

Pogba was absent from United’s open training session on the eve of their Champions League round-of-16 tie but joined in with team-mates after the media left the club’s Carrington complex.

“He trained a little bit after you left,” Mourinho said. “I don’t know if he will be fit for tomorrow yet.”

Mourinho confirmed Anthony Martial, who did participate in the open training session, was fit to return against Sevilla having missed last week’s wins over Crystal Palace and Liverpool with an unspecified injury.

United quartet Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and Ander Herrera are still unavailable for tonight’s second leg at Old Trafford, with the tie level at 0-0.

Mourinho is confident his squad will reach the last eight but is not convinced they have a strong enough squad to consistently challenge with the European elite.

“Not yet,” he added. “But when a team reaches the last eight anything is possible.

“I know it is very difficult to go through – if we go through to the quarter-final, it doesn’t matter the opponent, it will always be a big name.”
