Inspector shell-shocked over lunchbox egg theft

-

A CITY-CENTRE policeman was faced with cracking a different kind of crime after an egg went missing from his lunchbox.

Inspector Middleton, of GMP City Centre, shared his missing food mystery on Facebook and Twitter yesterday – to the delight of his amused followers on the social media platforms.

The senior police officer, who usually shares news of incidents and arrests in Manchester, said: “Isn’t it ironic that police stations are very secure but the fridges inside them not so.

“Just gone to have my lunch – two eggs in a Tupperware box for scrambling – only to find one of them is missing.

“I’m going to have to shell out for another one now. Inspector Middleton.”

Inspector Middleton’s followers were quick to add their own quips, with many sympathising with the woes of the workplace shared fridge.

One wrote: “You will have to find a vacant cell for the Easter bunny who may have taken it.”

Another said: “Theft is no yolk... I’m shell-shocked that such a thing could happen to your lunch.”

“You need to be egg-stra careful,” added Dee Kelser.
