England World Cup team still our heroes

Manchester Evening News - - LETTERS, COMMENTS AND EMAILS -

A lot of people didn’t expect England to get out of the group stages. They did us proud getting to the semi-final. Kane, Trippier, Pickford and Maguire were particularly outstanding. I look forward to the Euros and the 2022 World Cup. Southgate is definitely the man for the job. Mike Greenwood

A young pretty much inexperienced team got us to the semis... God help the rest of the world when they’re experienced!!! Darran Atherley

Well done lads, very proud of what you’ve achieved as a team in this World Cup by working together, made England football fans and occasional supporters extremely proud. You united the country with a major boost of feel good factor, thank you. Gillian Kay Doodson

They’re not heroes. They’re footballers who played well in a world cup. Get some perspective. Jesse Keen
