Teen dies after store balcony fall
A TEENAGER has died after falling from a balcony at John Lewis in Cheadle.
Emergency services were called to the store, just off Wilmslow Road, at 7.20pm on Thursday.
A 19-year-old girl was taken to Salford Royal Hospital in a critical condition.
Police confirmed yesterday that she had passed away as a result of her injuries.
Her family is being supported by specialist officers.
It’s understood she fell from the upper level onto the ground floor from an internal balcony.
A police spokeswoman said their investigations concluded the incident was not suspicious.
John Lewis confirmed the store was closed immediately in the aftermath of the incident, although it has since reopened.
