Gang bran­dish knife to beat up girl, 15

A GANG armed with a knife beat up a 15-year-old girl in Chorl­ton.

The blade was bran­dished by the thugs, but not used.

The vic­tim was punched and kicked, po­lice said.

She was set upon in Wishaw Square, off Win­ter­mans Road near South­ern Ceme­tery, on Tues­day evening.

In a state­ment, GMP said: “Shortly af­ter 7.45pm on Tues­day, July 10, po­lice were called to re­ports of an as­sault on Wishaw Square in Chorl­ton.

“A teenager was ap­proached by four of­fend­ers, who pushed her to the floor and as­saulted her. They then fled from the scene.

“En­quiries into the full cir­cum­stances around this in­ci­dent are on­go­ing.”
