Biker breaks an­kles in crash

A MO­TOR­BIKE rider suf­fered two bro­ken an­kles and a bro­ken wrist in a col­li­sion with a car.

The man, aged in his 20s, was left in hos­pi­tal for sev­eral days and is now re­cov­er­ing from his in­juries at home. Po­lice have is­sued an ap­peal for wit­nesses or any­one with dash­board cam­era footage to come for­ward.

The col­li­sion hap­pened on Hale Road in Al­trin­cham, Traf­ford, shortly be­fore 8.55pm on July 6.

The man’s black Lex­moto bike was in col­li­sion with a sil­ver Chevro­let Cruze at the junc­tion with Park Road. The driver of the Chevro­let was also taken to hos­pi­tal for treat­ment. She suf­fered mi­nor in­juries.

Po­lice said no ar­rests have been made and en­quiries were on­go­ing.

Pc Peter Ham­nett-Steen said: “The mo­tor­bike rider was left in hos­pi­tal for a num­ber of days and our thoughts re­main with him as he re­cov­ers from this in­ci­dent. Hale Road was closed for over three hours while in­ves­tiga­tive work was car­ried out but we want to ap­peal to any wit­nesses to get in touch.”
