Flasher exposes himself in park

-

A FLASHER with gelled hair and salmon pink jogging bottoms has been exposing himself to women in a park.

The man also hid in bushes and ‘acted inappropriately’ during a series of incidents in Stamford Park in Stalybridge, police said. They all occurred on Sunday mornings in the Sycamore end of the park and an area called ‘the Diggle’, according to officers.

He targeted women walking their dogs or on their own. The suspect is a man in his 20s, with tanned or olive skin and medium length dark hair that was sometimes ‘gelled back’.

He has been seen wearing a black T-shirt and black or salmoncoloured jogging bottoms.

One time he had a silver bike.

Insp Andrew Holden, from GMP’s Tameside team, said: “We are currently searching for a man in connection with several incidents in the area and we are hoping someone may recognise the description and be able to help us identify him.

“These incidents are happening in broad daylight on Sunday mornings. We have increased patrols in the area in the hope that we can find him ourselves, but are appealing for anyone who sees anyone acting suspiciously to either tell a patrolling officer or call police as soon as possible.

“We are taking this matter incredibly seriously and hope to put an end to these incidents as soon as we can.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 9350 – alternatively call 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
