Housewife starts her Christmas celebrations seven weeks early
IT’S only November but The Real Housewives of Cheshire star Lauren Simon was in the festive mood as she threw a pre-Christmas party. The glam reality star partied with her friends and family after having her home professionally decorated especially for Christmas by a company who specialise in taking the strain out of the preparations.
She called on Harrington’s Christmas Decorators, who add sparkle to the homes of the rich and famous, including Manchester United and City footballers and TV presenters, and they transformed her home into a winter wonderland, with a 7ft 5in tree in her hallway adorned with gold decorations, a stair garland and over-mantle garland in her kitchen.
Guests were greeted with a mobile gin bar from Bee-Ginning, a rum bar, chocolates and cheeses from the Cheshire Cheese Company.
The champagne was flowing as Key 2 radio presenter Darren Proctor performed a DJ set and there was a visit from Santa.
Lauren said: “I thought I would get my tree up early and have a pre-Christmas party.
“I’m very family orientated and I’ve had a hard year so why not? Life is too short.
“People might say it’s too early but I think it’s never too early to celebrate Christmas, and it was so much easier to have someone come in and do the whole thing.”
Guests at the party included Lauren’s co-stars Hanna Miraftab and Rachel Lugo, who donned a Santa hat for the occasion.
On the ITVBe reality show, which is now in its eighth series, Lauren has revealed her heartache over her ongoing divorce from husband Paul Simon.
She added: “I’ve had a difficult year and I wanted to let my hair down and look forward to starting 2019 with some positivity.”
Harrington’s started out in 2015 and is run by Tom Harrington and George Pullar.
The family business, based in Alderley Edge, also decorates salons, offices, boutiques, estate agents, jewellers and cosmetic clinics and clients pay anything from £1,500 to £4,000.
Tom set up the business after his former workplace in Oxford asked him to spruce up the office for Christmas and gave him two boxes of decorations to work with.
Last year they were asked by Lauren’s co-star Tanya Bardsley, the wife of Burnley footballer Phil Bardsley, to decorate their home and her boutique in Wilmslow.
Tom said: “Lauren’s was our first install of the year and we have 25 this year.
“We’re really pleased with the result, it looks really good.”
