Squirrels are much-loved

Manchester Evening News - - LETTERS, COMMENTS AND EMAILS -

WITH reference to the article ‘Do squirrels like pumpkins? Apparently so...’ (M.E.N. 29 Oct 2018).

Thank you for both promoting an excellent community recycling idea and for publishing a hate-free article that mentions grey squirrels.

I run a wildlife rescue unit called Urban Squirrels, and I was thrilled to read a text that simply assumes that grey squirrels are now part of our ecosystem and are, in fact, fascinating little animals.

Many people rightly admire them for learning to live with us in the ecological mess that is our cities, and enjoy watching their antics – they are endlessly resourceful and entertaining creatures. Natalia Doran, London
