Crash trucker fights for life

A HGV driver was fighting for life in hospital after he suffered a medical episode and smashed into a central reservation on the M60.

The crash took place just past junction 13, for Worsley, on the clockwise carriageway.

Police believe the driver suffered a medical episode and then ploughed into the central reservation.

The 49-year-old driver was taken to hospital where he remained in a critical condition. A section of the motorway was closed for several hours following the incident, which took place at around 8pm on Thursday.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
