DOING SOMETHING DIFFERENT CAN BE BRILLIANT

MCN - - CONTENTS -

For one reason or another I have ended up watching an eclectic mix of bands over the years, many of whom definitely don’t fit my love of punk, ska, reggae or indie rock.

But standing a few feet away from Steve Wonder or Eminem or an Abba tribute band, a strange thing usually happens. The live atmosphere and popular songs find a way to make you feel good, tap your feet and generally appreciate the output. There has only been one time when I didn’t enjoy a live music occasion and that was when I was forced (sort of) to see Girls Aloud. They definitely should not be allowed!

Motorcycling events have the same effect. I prefer road racing really, but I love the occasional speedway meeting or a bid of motocross mayhem. A drag race or autojumble have also provided hours of entertainment in the past. Hill climbs? Hilarious. I need to force the issue from to time to time to ensure I’m not missing out on anything and getting stuck in a rut. All types of bikes and bike riding offer huge entertainment and it’d be rude not to try a bit of everything. Let’s get out there.
