RUCKSACKS
MCN’s high-mileage riders rate their rucksacks
Tested by Simon Brown, 7500 miles, two years This isn’t the cheapest bag here but neither is it the most expensive and I’ve been delighted with its performance. The design is bike-specific so the rucksack hugs your body and has an aerodynamic shape, which keeps it comfortable and stable on my Ducati Scrambler both at motorway speeds and in more normal riding conditions. It secures with an easily adjustable waist and chest strap. The fasteners are simple plastic and nowhere near as fancy as a Kriega system but they work fine and have been perfectly robust so far. Inside, there is a main compartment and an area for keeping paperwork in order. Meanwhile, there is a separate area for transporting a laptop. In prolonged rain, you’ll need to stop and deploy the rain cover. You also get a handy pocket on the top of the bag. It’s intended for glasses but I use it to stash my visor cleaning stuff.
