“My MT-09 is very much for everyday use and I ride at least 40-miles a day; plus whatever I can squeeze in for fun at a weekend. I really like the styling of it, the characterful, three-cylinder power delivery and the comfortable riding position. In fact I fell it love with it as soon as I’d test ridden one. “I really like the Niken’s radical styling, too, and all the clever engineering that’s been involved in its production. As a result I think it will appeal to those who like the fact that the Niken is different and also probably more stable in the bendy stuff. “Some scooter manufacturers such as Piaggio have already bitten the bullet and gone for the leaning, twin front wheel solution, but I think that Yamaha are ahead of everyone else when it comes to bikes of this size and I can’t really see any of the others following suit any time soon.

“If my local dealer had a Nikken demonstrator I would take one out on a test ride, without a doubt. I can see no reason that my daily commute would be a bar to buying one, in fact I think it would be a major plus point.”

Now, how do I fit that extra wheel?
