Ready for some time at the bar? This com­plex unites five com­pound lifts to dev­as­tat­ing ef­fect. Do each for the re­quired num­ber of reps (see above), then move on to the next with­out set­ting the weight down. Rest af­ter all five moves.

‘Bar­bell com­plexes are an ef­fec­tive tool to build mus­cle and torch fat,’ says coach and for­mer army PTI Steve Kowalenko of W10 Per­for­mance (w10per­for­mance.com). ‘They’re fun, they’re quick and they el­e­vate your me­tab­o­lism for longer than tra­di­tional car­dio. Also, while car­dio ex­er­cise can in­crease your lev­els of cor­ti­sol – the hor­mone re­spon­si­ble for fat stor­age – this com­plex re­leases an­abolic hor­mones, help­ing you main­tain mus­cle mass.’
