Fight fat with fi­bre

If you want to lose weight faster then try in­creas­ing your in­take of fi­bre, specif­i­cally re­sis­tant starch which is not di­gested in the small in­tes­tine and so not clas­si­fied as a type of di­etary fi­bre. It is found in foods such as pota­toes, ba­nanas, grains and legumes, and can im­prove gut health (by feed­ing your “good” bac­te­ria) and help sta­bilise blood sugar lev­els, the key to safe and sus­tain­able weight loss. The re­search, pub­lished in the jour­nal Nu­tri­tion Bul­letin, also found eat­ing more of this type of fi­bre en­hanced feel­ings of full­ness by pro­duc­ing more short-chain fatty acids.
