Cut back on salt to strip away fat

Men's Fitness - - Updates | Nutrition -

Too much salt isn’t good for your health – it’s linked to an increased risk of high blood pressure and strokes – but it might also be bad for your waistline, according to a new study from Vanderbilt University in the US. Researchers found that, in contradiction of the widespread assumption that salty foods make you thirsty, subjects given a high-salt diet didn’t increase their water intake, retained more water and had higher energy requirements, making them feel hungrier. This was likely to lead to greater calorie consumption and fat storage.
