Despite what we tell our doctors, many of us regularly drink too much alcohol. If that’s you, cut back on the booze while increasing your coffee intake and you’ll significantly lower your risk of liver diseases, including cancer. Just one cup of coffee a day could lower your risk of developing liver cancer by 20% while having two cups cuts it by 35%, according to analysis of 26 studies on two million subjects published in the BMJ Open journal. Five cups a day could halve your risk – and the study found decaf provided some of the same benefits.
