01\ Stem cells are stripped from a cow muscle sample obtained during routine animal biopsies.

02\ The cells are incubated in a ‘nutrient broth’ to promote division, creating an initial section of tissue.

03\ Attaching the tissue to Velcro and stretching it bulks up the sample.

04\ Up to 20,000 strips of this meat are minced and mixed with salt, onion and a little pepper for the perfect burger patty.
