The Drinks Guru Fair Drinks’ Koiran­sky (al­most) makes a virtue out of he­do­nism The break­fast of­fer­ing from Lon­don’s Bom­baystyle street food mecca puts a gourmet In­dian twist on a time-hon­oured, bleary- eyed tra­di­tion. Food­ies at have praised it as “the world’s best ba­con and egg roll”, and Dishoom co-founder Shamil Thakrar agrees: “We bake the bread fresh to or­der in sear­ing hot tan­doors be­fore adding char- grilled, dry- cured streaky ba­con. Then we top it off with our own spe­cial chilli-tomato jam.” So far, so sat­is­fy­ing. But it is this meal’s ca­pac­ity to bol­ster body and mind when your re­solve is at its shaki­est that earns it our first award of the day. “Ba­con and eggs are both sources of high qual­ity pro­tein, which will sa­ti­ate your hunger, while the cys­teine in the eggs has been proven to help shift tox­ins from your liver to speed your re­cov­ery,” says nu­tri­tion­ist Drew Price.
