CORONA KINDNESS

- Den, via email James, London Peter Webb, Stansted Mountfitchet Chanel Martin, London

■ My wife and I would like to say a very big thank you to NHS carers Nadine and Chico for helping us take care of my wife’s 87-year-old father. Stay safe.

■ I would like to thank the very few people who wear face coverings on the Tube – those very few who try to keep me and everyone else safe! This is daily on the Central line between 5.30am and 6.30am. I’m on a carriage of 20 people and just five of us are wearing a face covering. Each day I have to move seats. I just wish I could also thank a police officer for giving them a fine. That’s not very likely.

■ I would like to nominate Nancy May, a young, talented mezzosoprano who has entertained many people during the lockdown with her ten weekly concerts via YouTube, each one 50 minutes of quality music, from opera to musical theatre and a final concert of classics from the late Dame Vera Lynn. From this week, she has embarked on daily outdoor concerts at a number of care homes in Essex, no matter the weather!

■ My ma and I would just like to say thank you to all the staff who have been involved in publishing Metro since the lockdown started. My ma sees reading the Metro as a part of her routine at work and I’ve really been enjoying the jigsaw puzzles on the app. Your hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed and we hope you are all well.

Give a shout-out to those helping out. email mail@ukmetro.co.uk
