Cue­ing up for pool hon­ours

FOUR Teesside pool play­ers have been rep­re­sent­ing Eng­land Black­ball teams at dif­fer­ent lev­els in the Euro­pean pool cham­pi­onships at the Spa in Bridling­ton.

The cham­pi­onships got un­der way, Alex Ram­bert from Stockton play­ing for the un­der 23 B1 team.

Alex made his Eng­land de­but in the Na­tions cup held in Ire­land last win­ter and came away with the dou­bles ti­tle, team ti­tle and lost in the semi fi­nals of the sin­gles to make an ex­cel­lent de­but.

Alex was hop­ing to bring more medals home from the Euro­peans.

Steve Wood­ier from Mid­dles­brough has been in the Eng­land seniors team for five years.

He was dropped to the B1 team last sea­son and came away with the win­ner’s medal. Steve has now been called back to the Eng­land A team and hop­ing for more win­ners medals.

Stu­art Richard­son from Stockton is in the masters Eng­land B1 team af­ter his de­but in Ire­land.

Ste Wood From Stockton made his de­but in Ire­land and is hop­ing for suc­cess in the Eng­land seniors B2s.

Coun­tries com­pet­ing this year are Scot­land, Wales, Ire­land, North­ern Ire­land, Shet­lands, Gi­bral­tar, cata­lanya, Cyprus,Malta, France, Nether­lands and first time en­trants Bel­gium.
