DOZENS of cute rescued greyhounds went at a surprisingly slow pace as they took a stroll around Preston Park as part of an international event.

Dog lovers and their pets gathered at the park in Eaglescliffe to take part in the annual walk to showcase the breed, and hopefully find dogs new owners and forever homes. The sighthounds, a variation of the popular breed, walked together as part of the Great Global Greyhound Walk on Sunday.

Organised by Greyhound Rescue and Co-ordinated Emergencies (GRACE), the event provided an opportunity to meet and walk with some of the rescue canines to show what beautiful companions the dogs can make.

The Preston Park event was one of hundreds of walks going on around the world at the same time.

Easy does it, as rescue greyhounds take a graceful stroll around Preston Park and hope to find a loving home
