Our top model jets off to Egypt

A TEESSIDE beauty queen is head­ing to Egypt to rep­re­sent Eng­land at the Top Model of the World in­ter­na­tional fi­nal.

On July 3 Re­becca Rids­dale, 19, will be jet­ting off to the Red Sea.

Re­becca, a di­ag­nos­tic ra­di­og­ra­phy stu­dent and for­mer Miss Tees Val­ley, won the chance to rep­re­sent the coun­try af­ter win­ning the Top Model of Eng­land ti­tle at the Su­per­model Eng­land na­tional fi­nal.

Re­becca, from Es­ton, has suf­fered from asthma since she was six months old. She said: “To look at me, you may not think there’s any­thing wrong with me at all, but I’m of­ten in hos­pi­tal af­ter a se­vere at­tack. So along with all of the amaz­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties that have come with win­ning my ti­tle, I also want to raise aware­ness for the ill­ness.”

If Re­becca wins she will get $10,000 cash and prizes worth $20,000.
