Baby me­mo­rial ser­vice is to be held at hospi­tal

FAM­I­LIES who have lost a baby through still­birth or shortly af­ter birth are be­ing in­vited to a spe­cial ser­vice of re­mem­brance at North Manchester Gen­eral Hospi­tal.

The ser­vice will be held in the post grad­u­ate ed­u­ca­tion cen­tre at the hospi­tal on Wed­nes­day, July 5 at 7pm.

The Baby Me­mo­rial Ser­vice will of­fer fam­i­lies a chance to re­flect on their loss and will pro­vide an op­por­tu­nity to re­mem­ber all the ba­bies who have died.

It will in­clude mu­sic, read­ings and po­ems and a cou­ple of prayers, com­bined with the read­ing of the names of the ba­bies.

The Rev Ian Inglis, chap­laincy co-or­di­na­tor at The Pen­nine Acute Hos­pi­tals NHS Trust, which runs the hospi­tal, said: “The baby me­mo­rial ser­vice is open to all who wish to at­tend. It is a chance for any­one who has lost a child to pause, re­flect and re­mem­ber in a safe en­vi­ron­ment, amongst oth­ers who have ex­pe­ri­enced loss them­selves.”
