Baby memorial service is to be held at hospital
FAMILIES who have lost a baby through stillbirth or shortly after birth are being invited to a special service of remembrance at North Manchester General Hospital.
The service will be held in the post graduate education centre at the hospital on Wednesday, July 5 at 7pm.
The Baby Memorial Service will offer families a chance to reflect on their loss and will provide an opportunity to remember all the babies who have died.
It will include music, readings and poems and a couple of prayers, combined with the reading of the names of the babies.
The Rev Ian Inglis, chaplaincy co-ordinator at The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs the hospital, said: “The baby memorial service is open to all who wish to attend. It is a chance for anyone who has lost a child to pause, reflect and remember in a safe environment, amongst others who have experienced loss themselves.”
Refreshments will be served after the service. For details call the Rev Inglis on 0161 720 2990.
