Run rate gives Norden victory in the rain

Middleton Guardian - - LEISURE - LES BARLOW

RUN rate decided Norden’s Tom Hardman T20 match against Stayley on Friday night.

People one mile away from Stag Park reported they never saw any rain, but it certainly rained up in Norden to bring a premature end to a match Stags always looked like winning.

Only Peter Skuse (18) and Patel (13 not out) got into double figures as 10-man Stayley were dismissed for 84.

Harvey Fitton took three for 18, and Naveed Zamurad picked up two for one.

Greg Butterworth and Dean Lord each took two wickets.

Stags made a hardhitting start to the reply and were 34 for the loss of Hashum Malik and Josh Tolley when play ended after five overs.

Under rules it went to run rate, and Norden were the winners.
